About RTC
Our story is the story of Central Pennsylvania.
RTC is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to taxpayer empowerment, financial education, and IRS-compliant free tax preparation.
Mission
To improve the financial well-being of low-to-moderate income households across Central Pennsylvania by providing free, IRS-certified tax preparation, taxpayer rights education, and community outreach.
Vision
A community in which every taxpayer understands their rights, accesses every credit they have earned, and is supported by a network of trained, compassionate volunteers.
Program Overview
VITA
IRS-certified volunteers preparing returns for eligible households at no cost.
LITC
Education and outreach about taxpayer rights, IRS notices, audits, and collections.
Community Education
Workshops, ESL outreach, and resource distribution across the region.
IRS Compliance Statement
RTC operates within IRS VITA program guidelines and LITC scope. Our volunteers are IRS-certified annually. We do not prepare returns outside of VITA scope, and we do not provide legal representation. All taxpayer information is treated confidentially in accordance with IRS Publication 4299.
